Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the United Arab Emirates and signed significant agreements covering liquefied petroleum gas supply, strategic petroleum reserves, defence cooperation and investment. The visit comes as India grapples with rising fuel prices and broader energy security concerns linked to ongoing regional tensions.
During talks with President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, both leaders discussed strengthening energy partnerships and expanding economic ties. The agreements are expected to bolster India’s energy security while deepening long-term strategic cooperation between the two nations.
Modi also emphasized the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz free and open, highlighting its critical role in global energy flows. He backed dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred path to easing tensions in the Middle East.
