A powerful nighttime explosion near Jerusalem has triggered alarm and speculation amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran. The blast occurred in Beit Shemesh, where dramatic footage showed a large mushroom cloud and flames lighting up the sky, intensifying public concern.
Early reports claimed emergency responders were initially blocked from accessing the site, prompting allegations that the explosion may have taken place at a sensitive military facility. The Times of Israel later reported that the incident occurred at a testing ground operated by Tomer, a company that develops missile and rocket engines.
Tomer stated that the explosion was part of a pre-planned and controlled experiment. However, skepticism persists after a former official from the United States Central Intelligence Agency questioned why such a test would be conducted at night, raising the possibility of an accident or potential sabotage.
