Energy and Infrastructure Minister Eli Cohen said the confrontation with Iran has reached a decisive moment, warning that if Iran refuses to accept the dictates of the United States, a military strike will occur. He argued that economic pressure and military blows have severely weakened Tehran, and predicted the regime could collapse under continued sanctions and internal unrest.
Cohen maintained that Israel is prepared for escalation, emphasizing that critical infrastructure remained fully functional despite attacks. He said the country strengthened stockpiles, diversified energy sources, and fortified facilities to ensure uninterrupted supplies of electricity, gas, water, and fuel. He also stressed that operations in Lebanon would continue until the threat from Hezbollah is dismantled, while Israel expands its control in Gaza with the goal of full territorial control.
On domestic politics, Cohen predicted early elections due to deadlock over military service legislation and expressed confidence in victory. He criticized opposition plans to cooperate with Arab parties, called for completion of judicial reform, and urged right-wing factions not to split the vote. He also highlighted expanded infrastructure development in Judea and Samaria, describing it as establishing de facto sovereignty.
