Major (res.) Itamar Sapir, 27, was killed in combat in southern Lebanon, the Binyamin Regional Council announced. His funeral is scheduled to take place in Ra'anana.
Sapir, the son of Yehuda and Rivki Sapir from Eli, grew up in the Binyamin region and studied at Yeshivat Neve Shmuel in Efrat. He enlisted in 2019 in the Maglan unit and later served as a company commander, continuing in that role in the reserve battalion after his discharge.
He is survived by his wife Roi and their young son Maayan, as well as his parents and three brothers. Friends and local leaders described him as devoted, determined, and deeply committed to his family, community, and the defense of the State of Israel. Sapir is the 63rd soldier from the Binyamin Regional Council to fall since the start of the war.
