Not seen or heard for two months: Where is Iran's Supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei?

Two months after succeeding his father as Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei has yet to make a public appearance, fueling speculation about his health and control over the country during a period of heightened tension. Reports indicate he was injured in the February 28 airstrikes by the United States and Israel on Tehran that killed former leader Ali Khamenei and several family members. Iranian officials insist he remains in good health and continues to oversee state affairs.

According to officials, Khamenei was struck by a blast wave while near the targeted compound and suffered injuries to his knee, lower back and behind one ear. Authorities have rejected claims that he sustained life-threatening wounds or disfigurement, accusing foreign media of spreading false information to portray Iran's leadership as unstable.

Despite these assurances, security around the new supreme leader has reportedly intensified amid fears of further assassination attempts. Communications are said to be delivered by hand through trusted couriers to avoid electronic surveillance. The uncertainty comes as Iran navigates sensitive negotiations with the United States over its nuclear program and regional security, raising concerns among officials that renewed military action could follow if talks fail.
