IDF Home Front Command develops early warning system for Hezbollah rocket, drone attacks - report

The Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command has developed a new early warning capability to alert civilians of incoming rocket and drone attacks launched from Lebanese territory. According to a television report, the system is expected to be implemented within days and will provide varying preparation times depending on the area under threat.

Home Front Command chief Major General Shay Klepper previously emphasized the need to reassess warning times for communities, particularly those near the Lebanese border. He formed a team of experts to explore ways to extend alert times, stating that providing residents with more time to reach shelter remains a priority.

In recent months, siren warning times have already been extended for several northern communities as part of a broader security reassessment during intensified military operations in southern Lebanon. Additionally, the Home Front Command is updating its mobile phone and smart television applications with a new color coded system and clearer instructions to help residents better understand and respond to different types of threats.
