Israel will lift nationwide wartime restrictions at 6 a.m. Thursday following a ceasefire with Iran, marking a gradual return to normal life after weeks of emergency measures. The decision was announced after a situation assessment by the Home Front Command on Wednesday evening.
During the conflict, strict limits were imposed across much of the country, including bans on most educational activities, restrictions on public gatherings, and requirements to remain near protected spaces. Beaches were closed and many workplaces operated only if shelters were accessible.
With the updated policy taking effect, local authorities are preparing to resume full operations. Many municipalities, including Tel Aviv and nearby cities such as Ramat Gan, Givatayim and Bat Yam, have announced plans to reopen schools and restore public services, with some areas resuming activities immediately and others doing so gradually in line with national guidance.
