Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi that it was essential to prevent a renewed outbreak of fighting in the Middle East. During a telephone conversation, Lavrov stressed the importance of avoiding further armed confrontation and reaffirmed Russia's readiness to help resolve the crisis.

According to Russia's Foreign Ministry, Lavrov said there was no military solution to the conflict and emphasized Moscow's commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts. Araqchi briefed Lavrov on recent talks between Iran and the United States held in Pakistan over the weekend, which did not produce a breakthrough.
