Cenk Uygur slams AOC's 'Kamala-like word salad' on ex-aide endorsement

Cenk Uygur criticized Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for declining to endorse her former chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, in an upcoming primary election. Speaking on his online program, Uygur described her response to questions about the endorsement as a 'Kamala-like word salad' and mocked what he viewed as an overly complicated explanation.

Ocasio-Cortez said her hesitation was part of a broader political calculation, noting that there are 435 seats in Congress and suggesting she must consider how much of herself she invests in various races. Uygur rejected that reasoning, arguing that the question concerned her former chief of staff specifically and should not require extended deliberation.

While emphasizing that he generally supports Ocasio-Cortez’s policy positions, Uygur called her reluctance to back Chakrabarti 'bizarre' and 'inexplicable.' He also contrasted Chakrabarti with his primary opponent, California State Senator Scott Wiener, criticizing Wiener’s positions related to Israel and arguing that the choice for progressives should be clear.
