Kuwait’s military said two explosive drones launched from the direction of Iraq struck border posts along its northern frontier, causing material damage but no injuries. The attack targeted two land border positions and involved drones guided by fiber optic cables.

The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions following the outbreak of war in the Middle East on February 28. Pro Iran armed groups had been claiming near daily attacks on what they described as enemy bases in Iraq and across the region, though they later announced a suspension of operations after a ceasefire was declared.

Despite the ceasefire, Gulf countries have summoned Iraqi representatives to protest continued attacks attributed to these armed groups. Iraq has been drawn into the broader conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, with repeated strikes targeting both United States interests in Baghdad and Iran aligned factions within the country.
