Iran's foreign minister is expected to return to Pakistan to continue talks aimed at ending the war, even after United States President Donald Trump canceled a planned visit by his envoys. The Iranian envoy is set to meet Pakistani leaders again to present Iran's views on a framework for fully ending the conflict, following earlier discussions described as 'very fruitful.'

Trump called off his representatives' trip, saying there was no point in continuing discussions, though he claimed Iran quickly revised its proposal after the cancellation. While dismissing Tehran's initial negotiating position, he indicated that diplomacy had not been ruled out.

Tensions remain high as the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil and gas shipping route, stays closed under an Iranian blockade, prompting retaliation from the United States. Meanwhile, violence has continued on the Lebanese front, where Israeli strikes targeting Hezbollah killed several people despite a recently extended ceasefire, raising further doubts about the durability of peace efforts.
