Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon killed 14 people, including two children and two women, and wounded 37 others, according to Lebanon's Health Ministry. The Israeli military had issued evacuation warnings for several villages before carrying out artillery and air attacks that it said targeted Hezbollah fighters and infrastructure. A 19-year-old Israeli soldier was also killed and six others injured in a drone attack claimed by Hezbollah.

Hezbollah launched three drones toward Israel, which were intercepted before crossing the border. The violence comes despite a fragile ceasefire that began on 16 April and was recently extended. Both sides have accused each other of violating the agreement, with Israel maintaining it retains the right to act against imminent threats.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military was acting with force and insisted Hezbollah's actions were undermining the truce. The escalation follows his order to intensify attacks on Hezbollah targets, after earlier strikes killed six people. Regional tensions remain high as Iran pursues diplomatic efforts related to broader ceasefire arrangements, though Israel has stated that the current truce does not apply to Lebanon.
