A Palestine Action activist on trial for criminal damage told a court that taking part in a raid on a defence factory was the 'best thing I've ever done'. Zoe Rogers, 22, is accused of breaking into an Elbit Systems site near Bristol in August 2024 and destroying property. She told jurors there was a 'good chance' that innocent lives were saved as a result of the action.
Rogers, who is representing herself, said she was proud of her actions and believed the factory was supplying weapons to Israel. She denied the charge alongside five co-defendants. One of them, Samuel Corner, also faces a charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a police sergeant, which he denies.
The court heard the group allegedly crashed a prison van into factory shutters before using sledgehammers to damage equipment and spraying red paint inside the building. Another defendant, Jordan Devlin, is also representing himself and told jurors he did not regret taking part. The trial is ongoing.
