Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Israeli Navy seized ships carrying activists attempting to break the blockade on Gaza, preventing them from reaching the territory. In a statement from his office, he praised the navy for what he described as a completely successful operation.
Netanyahu said he had ordered authorities to stop what he called a flotilla of Hamas supporters from arriving on Gaza's shores. According to his statement, none of the ships reached Israeli or maritime territory.
He added that the activists had been turned back and would return to their countries of origin, saying they would 'continue to watch Gaza on YouTube' instead of entering the area.
