Israel's 2026 Eurovision contestant Noam Bettan has departed for Vienna ahead of the international song competition, where he will perform his song 'Michelle.' The first semifinal is scheduled for May 12, and Bettan is set to hold his first official rehearsal at the Wiener Stadthalle.
In a video message shared from the airport, Bettan thanked the people of Israel for their strong support in recent months. He said he feels proud to represent his country and promised to give his best performance on the Eurovision stage.
The Israeli delegation, including dancers, public broadcaster officials and support staff, is traveling under heavy security due to anticipated protests over Israel's participation. Several countries withdrew from the competition after a vote by members of the European Broadcasting Union allowed Israel to remain in the contest.
