image sourced from original article at A convicted murderer has been sentenced to an additional 11 years in prison after carrying out an antisemitic assault on a Jewish chaplain at a prison in Cambridgeshire. The attacker punched the chaplain in the back of the head with such force that he fell to the ground and continued beating him, leaving him with a broken jaw and thumb.
Police said the victim believed the assault was motivated by religious hatred, as he was visibly Jewish at the time of the attack. The offender had previously written anti Israel slogans on his cell walls and was already serving a life sentence for murder.
During sentencing, the judge described the attacker’s views as antisemitic and ideologically disturbing, warning that he posed a very high risk of future assaults and could seek to harm members of the Jewish community.
