Saudi fighter Ahmed Albrahim is preparing for his professional debut later this month when the Professional Fighters League Middle East hosts an event in Dubai. The welterweight will face Egypt's Khaled Mahmoud at the Coca-Cola Arena on May 24, with both athletes beginning their journeys in the promotion. Originally scheduled for Alkhobar, the event was moved to Dubai, a change that Albrahim says has not affected his focus.
The 29-year-old has spent the past four months training in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, working closely with Bahraini veteran Hamza Kooheji, whom he describes as a major influence on his career. Albrahim transitioned to mixed martial arts after starting out as a football goalkeeper, eventually finding success in grappling competitions across the region.
He enters the bout with momentum after a dominant ground performance in his previous appearance, where he secured a second-round technical knockout. Confident in his preparation, Albrahim says he is aiming for a decisive finish while emphasizing respect and unity among Arab nations as he represents Saudi Arabia on a prominent regional stage.
