Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said during a visit to Berlin that Christians in Israel are safe and prosperous, stressing that anyone who harms them 'will be dealt with severely.' Speaking alongside his German counterpart Johann Wadephul, he reaffirmed Israel's commitment to protecting religious communities in the Holy Land.
Addressing regional tensions, Sa'ar condemned what he described as unprovoked attacks by Iran against the United Arab Emirates and warned that threats to freedom of navigation endanger global order. He blamed Hezbollah for ongoing violence in Lebanon, noting that Israel had withdrawn from Lebanon in 2000 and from Gaza in 2005, and said Israel has no territorial ambitions in Lebanon while criticizing the Lebanese government for failing to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure.
Sa'ar emphasized Israel's strategic partnership with Germany, highlighting cooperation in defense, security, intelligence and technology. He said Israeli systems, including the Arrow 3 air defense system, unmanned aerial vehicles, anti-drone technology, autonomous submarines and advanced tank protection, contribute to German security and help prevent attacks on German soil.
