A ninth person has been arrested in connection with the arson attack on Jewish ambulances that caused around £1m in damage and affected nearby flats and a synagogue. Prosecutors believe the fire was a targeted attack against the Jewish community. Four suspects, including three men and a teenager, have already appeared in court and remain in custody ahead of a plea hearing in August.
Police said they are continuing efforts to identify and charge all those responsible for the ambulance fire and other recent incidents aimed at Jewish, Israeli and Iranian sites. Since March, officers have arrested 31 people as part of counter-terrorism investigations into attacks on Jewish locations across London, including synagogues and a Jewish-owned business.
The latest arrest comes amid heightened tensions following the stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green and an attempted arson at a synagogue in Finchley. Authorities are also examining claims that some incidents may be linked to an Iranian-connected group, though they have not ruled out the possibility that such claims are opportunistic.
