The Pentagon has released an initial batch of long-awaited files on unidentified anomalous phenomena after President Donald Trump renewed attention on the issue and urged greater transparency. The documents, published on a newly launched government website, include decades-old diplomatic cables, investigative reports, astronaut debriefings, photographs, and more than twenty military videos showing unexplained objects observed around the world.

Among the records are accounts of objects making sharp ninety-degree turns, corkscrew movements, and high-speed maneuvers over locations such as Kazakhstan, Syria, and the Aegean Sea. Files include testimony from military personnel and intelligence officials, a debriefing from the Apollo Eleven mission in which Buzz Aldrin described unusual lights, and a photograph from the Apollo Seventeen mission showing a triangular formation of dots. Some incidents were later determined to have benign explanations, while others remain unresolved.

The document release follows congressional pressure and the creation of a Pentagon office tasked with reviewing and declassifying such material. A report issued in twenty twenty four found no evidence that the United States government had confirmed alien technology or life. Lawmakers and advocacy groups welcomed the new disclosures but said further releases are needed, while experts cautioned that videos of aerial phenomena are often misinterpreted without technical context.
