A man has admitted carrying out religiously aggravated assaults against three Jewish people in Enfield. Ossei, from Hornchurch in east London, pleaded guilty to multiple offences, including assault and using threatening, abusive or insulting words motivated by hostility toward a religious group. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Wood Green Crown Court for sentencing at a later date.

Prosecutors said he assaulted Lukas Pas and caused religiously aggravated fear or provocation of violence toward Natalie Bancroft. One charge stated that his behaviour caused Bancroft to believe that 'immediate unlawful violence would be used against her' and demonstrated hostility based on her presumed membership of a particular religious group.

The Metropolitan Police said the three victims did not require further medical treatment. A chief crown prosecutor for London North said hate crimes cause harm beyond the immediate victims and send a message of fear to entire communities.
