Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has rejected any discussion of disarmament amid ongoing hostilities with Israel, declaring that the group's weapons are a domestic Lebanese matter and not open to negotiation. In a televised address, he vowed continued resistance, warning that Hezbollah would 'turn it into hell for Israel' if the confrontation persists.
Qassem outlined five objectives for cooperation with the Lebanese government: ending Israeli military actions, securing a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied areas, freeing detainees, enabling displaced residents to return to southern Lebanon, and launching nationwide reconstruction. He stressed that decisions بشأن Hezbollah's arms and Lebanon's internal affairs would remain free from foreign influence.
Despite a ceasefire brokered by the United States in April and later extended, fighting continues on the ground. Israeli forces reportedly control around six percent of Lebanese territory, while daily clashes persist across southern Lebanon and northern Israel.
The conflict has caused heavy casualties and mass displacement since escalating in early March. Israeli strikes have hit multiple مناطق, including Beirut's southern suburbs, while Hezbollah has responded with drone and rocket attacks targeting Israeli military positions, deepening an already fragile regional security crisis.
