The United States State Department’s oversight body is reportedly investigating the now-defunct Gaza Humanitarian Foundation over its handling of millions of dollars in emergency aid. The inquiry, first reported by the Financial Times, cites three people familiar with the matter.
The Office of Inspector General is examining a 30 million dollar grant announced last June by the State Department for the foundation, which was backed by the United States and Israel to help distribute aid in Gaza. The investigation is focused on how those funds were spent.
