Residents of northern Israel remain on edge as cross-border fire from Hezbollah continues to strike communities near the Lebanon border, despite signs of a broader ceasefire in the war with Iran. Direct hits on residential buildings in towns such as Misgav Am have reinforced fears that the threat to border areas is far from over.
Asaf Langleben, head of the Upper Galilee Regional Council, said that for communities in the north, daily life still resembles wartime conditions. Standing at the scene of a damaged apartment building, he stressed that the violence has not subsided locally, even if diplomatic efforts are advancing elsewhere.
Langleben called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to eliminate the threat to northern communities immediately, warning that without security in the north, the country as a whole cannot feel secure. His remarks highlight the growing pressure on the government to ensure lasting safety for residents along the border.
