A sharp diplomatic confrontation has erupted between Türkiye and Israel, with tensions escalating into personal attacks and legal threats amid an already volatile regional climate. The dispute intensified after Recep Tayyip Erdogan faced criticism from Israeli leaders, prompting a forceful response from Ankara.
Turkish officials accused Israel of making 'arrogant and false' allegations and escalated their rhetoric by referring to Benjamin Netanyahu as the 'Hitler of the era.' Türkiye also highlighted growing international legal pressure on Israel, pointing to proceedings at the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel responded with equally strong language. Netanyahu accused Erdogan of harboring terrorists, while Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz dismissed him as a 'paper tiger,' further deepening the diplomatic rift between the two nations.
