Iran has accused the United States of violating a ceasefire after American forces seized an Iranian-flagged commercial vessel in the Gulf of Oman. Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya joint military command said the ship was traveling from China to Iran when it was fired upon, calling the action 'armed piracy' and warning of retaliation.

United States President Donald Trump said the vessel, identified as the Touska, had attempted to breach a naval blockade imposed on Iran. He stated that the nearly 900-foot cargo ship was intercepted and detained after trying to bypass the blockade.

According to United States Central Command, the guided-missile destroyer Spruance intercepted the ship in the north Arabian Sea. After issuing multiple warnings over six hours, American forces disabled the vessel's propulsion by firing into its engine room and later boarded it. The ship remains in United States custody, and officials said similar enforcement actions have redirected multiple vessels since the blockade began.
