Lt. S., a 35-year-old doctor originally from Tashkent, built a stable medical career in his hometown before making the life-changing decision to immigrate to Israel with his family in 2023. Leaving behind a peaceful life with no war, he chose to begin again in a new country, driven by a desire to be part of Israeli society.
After retraining in Hebrew and adapting to a new medical system, he enlisted in the military during one of the most turbulent periods in the country’s history. Today, he serves as a combat medic at the Kfir Brigade training base, providing medical care to soldiers in the field.
What began as a professional transition has become a personal calling. Through his service to wounded soldiers, Lt. S. says he has found both purpose and a sense of home, turning his difficult journey of immigration and adjustment into a commitment to serve his adopted country.
