Netanya's leading rabbis have ordered the immediate closure of the city's separate Tzanz Beach and banned entry to the area after a recent cliff collapse raised serious safety concerns. The directive was posted at the beach entrance and warned the haredi community of potential danger to life.
The rabbis said the decision followed consultations with safety professionals and noted that there are currently no active lifeguard services at the beach. They stressed that Jewish law obligates the protection of human life, particularly the safety of children, and stated that the beach will remain closed until authorities declare it safe.
The move comes shortly after a tragedy in which two brothers, Yissachar Dov and Avraham Yeshayahu Spiegel, drowned at sea. One brother was initially rescued but later died in the hospital, while the other was found ten days later, intensifying concerns about beach safety in the area.
