IDF to present findings of investigation into Israelis entering Bint Jbail's active warzone

The Israel Defense Forces will present findings from an investigation into how four Israelis were permitted to enter the active combat zone of Bint Jbail in southern Lebanon without authorization. The probe was ordered by the Chief of Staff after the incident came to light.

The four individuals, who had lost relatives in the 2006 Second Lebanon War, were allowed into the area by commanders from the Givati Brigade despite ongoing fighting and the continued presence of Hezbollah fighters. Preliminary findings indicate that one of the individuals is an active duty soldier and the other three are reservists, though none are currently assigned to serve in southern Lebanon.

According to the military spokesperson, the entry was made for non operational purposes and without proper approval. An official military source confirmed that the incident occurred and that the investigation is ongoing. Authorities said no other similar cases have been identified during Operation Roaring Lion.
