Israel's Defense Ministry owes approximately 3.5 billion dollars to the country's three largest defense companies, according to a report by Calcalist. The unprecedented debt highlights growing financial strain between the government and key military suppliers.
Rafael, which manufactures the Iron Dome, David's Sling, and Iron Beam air defense systems, is owed the largest portion at about 1.6 billion dollars. Israel Aerospace Industries, producer of the Arrow missile system, is owed around 1.1 billion dollars, while Elbit Systems is owed roughly 800 million dollars.
