The detailed plan to widen Route 60 between British Police Junction and Tapuah Junction has been approved for submission, marking significant progress on a major infrastructure project in Judea and Samaria. The expansion targets one of the region's busiest north to south arteries, used daily by tens of thousands of commuters.
Netivei Israel has also begun early planning work on the section between British Police Junction and the community of Eli. The project aims to ease chronic traffic congestion, improve safety along the narrow and winding roadway, and reduce travel times between Jerusalem and Samaria.
Finance Minister and Minister in the Defense Ministry Bezalel Smotrich praised the advancement, describing road development as a key element in strengthening Israel's presence in the area. He said the upgraded route would support a planned surge in construction, including tens of thousands of new housing units and additional communities.
