Feds open probe into New York City's pro-Palestinian teachers

The United States Education Department has opened an investigation into New York City Public Schools over allegations that a group of pro-Palestinian teachers promoted antisemitic content in classrooms. Officials say the inquiry focuses on claims that educators organized seminars portraying Zionists as 'genocidal white supremacists' and encouraged hostility toward Jewish students.

The investigation centers on a group called New York City Educators for Palestine, which allegedly held sessions discussing Palestinian resistance and related topics with students as young as five years old. Federal officials are examining whether these activities may violate the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by fostering discrimination in schools.

Education officials stated that discrimination and antisemitic harassment will not be tolerated. A spokesperson for New York City Public Schools said the group is not affiliated with the district. The probe comes amid broader federal investigations into alleged antisemitism in public schools and colleges nationwide following the war in Gaza.
