Palantir chief executive Alex Karp used the company’s first quarter 2026 earnings call to urge businesses in the United States to stop chasing what he called 'artificial intelligence slop' and instead focus on building software that delivers measurable results. The company reported strong domestic growth and projected a seventy one percent growth rate for the year, which Karp attributed to demand for its data driven platform.
Karp criticized parts of the technology industry for promoting tools that appear impressive but fail to produce reliable outcomes. He argued that fears about artificial intelligence eliminating all jobs are exaggerated and said clients in critical infrastructure sectors understand the limits of low quality systems.
Highlighting Palantir’s efficiency, Karp said the company has only about seventy salespeople, with a handful responsible for most sales, yet it has doubled its business in the United States. He also pointed to the company’s work with government institutions and in conflict zones in the Middle East as proof that its long term investment in foundational platforms is delivering tangible impact.
