The Department of Defense has released a new batch of long-awaited files detailing incidents involving unidentified flying objects, following renewed attention from President Donald Trump. The materials include decades-old diplomatic cables, military reports, space mission transcripts and more than 20 videos captured by military sensors around the world. Trump said the public should review the documents and draw its own conclusions.
Among the records are accounts of unusual aerial maneuvers, including objects making sharp 90-degree turns, corkscrew movements and high-speed flights over locations such as Kazakhstan, Syria and the Aegean Sea. A 1969 debriefing from the Apollo 11 mission recounts astronaut Buzz Aldrin describing a bright light source near the spacecraft, while a 1972 Apollo 17 photograph shows three unexplained objects in triangular formation. Other reports describe glowing orbs, fast-moving spheres and brief sightings by military personnel and drone operators.
While the release has fueled public speculation, defense officials maintain that previous reviews have found no evidence of confirmed alien technology or extraterrestrial life. Lawmakers from Trump’s party praised the move toward greater transparency, though experts cautioned that such videos are often misinterpreted and that more disclosures may take time.
