Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has delayed a proposed bill that would repeal the Oslo Accords, the Hebron Protocol, and the Wye River Memorandum. The legislation, submitted by Limor Son Har-Melech and members of the Otzma Yehudit faction, was postponed by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation at Netanyahu’s request.

The proposal sparked debate within the government. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir urged immediate approval, arguing that current conditions make it an opportune moment to cancel the agreements. In contrast, representatives from the National Security Council called for further review, and Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fuchs stressed the importance of coordinating with the United States.

Justice Minister Yariv Levin expressed support for advancing the bill but acknowledged that the prime minister has access to broader considerations. The proposed law would nullify all agreements signed between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority, revoke related legislation, and restore the legal and security framework to its status prior to 1993. Sponsors of the bill argue that the agreements contributed to ongoing security challenges and link them to recent violence.
