The Knesset has approved a legislative amendment banning the use of 'Skunk water' and any substances other than clean water in police water cannons used to disperse protesters. The measure passed in its second and third readings with the support of 11 Members of Knesset and no opposition.
Under the new law, police must document every use of a water cannon with both video and audio recordings, which must be kept for three years. Individuals injured during protests are entitled to request the footage within seven days, although police may seek a court delay if releasing the material could harm an investigation, national security, or public safety.
