A suspected people smuggling boss has been arrested after an investigation revealed details of his operation transporting migrants from Afghanistan to the United Kingdom. The man, known as Jaf, advertised his services on social media, showcasing images of London and offering different travel options based on how much clients could pay.

Undercover reporting found he quoted 160,000 pounds for a so called VIP flight service to Manchester for an entire family. However, other migrants reported being placed on overcrowded boats and forced to navigate the English Channel themselves during dangerous nighttime crossings.

The National Crime Agency confirmed that a suspect was arrested on 13 May in what it described as a potentially very significant development. Officials said the individual had been under investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies and warned that those involved in organised immigration crime should not assume they are beyond reach, noting that more than 100 high level investigations are currently under way across the Middle East and Africa.
