Unknown attackers targeted the Israeli restaurant Eclipse Grill Bar in Munich overnight, smashing its windows by throwing pyrotechnic objects at the building. The restaurant was closed at the time, and no injuries were reported. Property damage is estimated at several thousand euros.
Germany's state security service and a police unit for extremist crimes are investigating the incident as a potentially politically motivated act. Officers responded shortly after midnight and found windows shattered in three places. Authorities said all possible motives are being examined, noting the political sensitivity of the case.
A representative of the restaurant said there had been no direct threats beforehand but suspects an antisemitic motive, as the establishment openly identifies as Israeli. The restaurant plans to reopen, stating it will not be intimidated. A Jewish community leader in Munich described the attack as part of a broader rise in hostility toward Jews and called for zero tolerance and strict penalties for antisemitism.
