Former prime minister Naftali Bennett has unveiled a sweeping plan to expand accessibility for people with disabilities across Israel, aiming to better integrate them into the economy and public life. Speaking in Bnei Brak, he said the initiative would help transform Israel into 'a light unto the nations' by ensuring equal opportunity and fuller participation.

The proposal includes making intercity buses fully accessible and upgrading transportation, tourism sites, heritage locations, and nature reserves to accommodate people with disabilities. Bennett also pledged to reform employment policies so that individuals can enter the workforce without risking their government benefits, which he said currently discourage many from seeking jobs.

The plan was developed with input from disabled technology entrepreneur Zach Cutler, who argues that increasing workforce participation could significantly boost national economic growth. Additional measures would create clearer pathways for people with disabilities to serve in the military, including access to senior and specialized roles through a more dignified and streamlined process.
