Israel's military has ordered residents in more than a dozen towns and villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate northward immediately, warning of an imminent attack. The evacuation order, communicated in Arabic, urged civilians to move toward the Sidon District for their safety, citing violations of a ceasefire agreement by the Hezbollah militia.
The military stated that it does not intend to harm civilians but warned that anyone near Hezbollah fighters, facilities, or weapons would be putting their life at risk. The announcement followed an expansion of Israeli strikes in Lebanon, including attacks on more than 20 sites described as infrastructure targets in the Bekaa Valley and southern regions.
Lebanese authorities reported four deaths despite the ceasefire. President Joseph Aoun said direct talks with Israel were aimed at ending the conflict, while criticizing those who drew Lebanon into the war, in comments widely seen as directed at the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.
