President Isaac Herzog will depart on Wednesday for a four day official visit to Panama and Costa Rica, marking the first ever visit to Panama by an Israeli president. The trip highlights the close ties between Israel and both Central American nations, which are considered strong allies.
In Panama, Herzog will meet with President Jose Raul Mulino and senior officials to discuss strengthening diplomatic and economic cooperation. He will also meet members of the local Jewish community. The visit begins in Panama, which currently serves as a member of the United Nations Security Council.
Herzog will then travel to Costa Rica to attend the inauguration of incoming President Laura Fernandez Delgado and participate in meetings with regional and international leaders. He is also expected to engage with Costa Rica’s Jewish community. The President’s Residence said the visit reflects the importance of Israel’s growing strategic partnerships across Central and South America.
