More than 500 rabbis, pastors, and faith leaders gathered in Washington this week for the annual Israel Advocacy Day, a joint initiative aimed at turning interfaith solidarity into coordinated political action. Organized by several Jewish and Christian groups, the effort brought delegations together for 115 meetings with members of Congress from both political parties to discuss support for Israel, rising antisemitism, and the protection of faith communities.
A defining feature of the event was its joint advocacy model, which paired rabbis and pastors in unified teams for meetings on Capitol Hill. Organizers said the goal was to move beyond symbolic support and toward measurable engagement with policymakers. The day concluded with remarks from congressional representatives and Israel’s ambassador to the United States.
The initiative also included a gala attended by hundreds of leaders from Jewish and Christian communities. During the event, Bishop Robert Stearns and Dr. Susan Michael were honored with the White Rose Society Award for their commitment to standing with the Jewish community amid increasing antisemitism. Speakers emphasized unity, religious freedom, and a shared commitment to confronting hatred through visible and sustained cooperation.
