Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon killed at least 19 people on Tuesday, including four women and three children, according to Lebanon's Health Ministry. The deadliest strike hit the village of Deir Qanoun al Nahr in Tyre province, where a house was destroyed and 10 people were killed. Additional strikes in Nabatieh and Kfar Sir left nine more dead and several others wounded.

The violence comes despite a fragile ceasefire brokered by the United States that has been in place since April 17 and was recently extended for 45 days. Fighting in the latest round of conflict began on March 2, when Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel following attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel.

The conflict has now killed more than 3,000 people and displaced over one million in Lebanon, many of whom are sheltering in tents. Israel says it is targeting Hezbollah infrastructure, while Hezbollah continues drone and rocket attacks. Israel also reported the death of one of its soldiers on Tuesday, bringing its military death toll in the current fighting to 21.
