Schools in northern border towns stay shut amid uptick in drone attacks from Lebanon

Schools and kindergartens in several northern border communities remained closed as drone attacks from Lebanon intensified. Local leaders made the decision independently, shifting students to distance learning to ensure their safety.

The closures were not ordered by the Israeli military's Home Front Command, but were taken as precautionary measures amid growing security concerns. Residents in the area have faced increasing instability due to cross border hostilities.

A senior United States official signaled that Washington may soon approve a broader Israeli military operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Meanwhile, Iran reportedly warned that any Israeli strike on Beirut could jeopardize ongoing negotiations aimed at ending the conflict and achieving a broader regional settlement.
