Syrian authorities arrested a group of suspects accused of attempting to assassinate Rabbi Michael Khoury in Damascus. The suspects allegedly planted an explosive device at the entrance to his residence, which was later discovered and neutralized before it could cause harm.
The group is believed to have operated under the Hezbollah terror organization. In a separate incident last year, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly planned to assassinate Israel's ambassador to Mexico, a plot that was ultimately foiled by Mexican security services.
