A new survey conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem following the United States-Iran ceasefire agreement shows deep pessimism among Israelis about the state of the conflict. Most respondents do not believe Iran or Hezbollah have been significantly weakened, and many reject the view that the current military operation has been a meaningful success. Researchers described despair, fatigue, and an expectation that the conflict is far from over as dominant public sentiments.

Seventy percent of respondents said they believe the ceasefire reflects a concession by the United States to Iran, and two-thirds oppose the agreement. Around 80 percent consider a lasting agreement between the two countries unlikely or impossible, with a similar share saying such a deal would endanger Israel's security. Fewer than half believe Iran is close to collapse, and only small minorities think Iran or Hezbollah would need years to recover.

The poll also found growing distrust in national leadership, with more than 70 percent saying the public is not receiving a full and reliable picture of the war. More than 60 percent said the situation is worse than they expected, and fewer than 40 percent would have supported the operation had they known the likely outcome. Fifty-eight percent reported significant fatigue, and more than half said the conflict has severely disrupted their daily lives.
