Rising antisemitic attacks across the United States, including deadly shootings and vandalism at Jewish institutions, have led to a surge in firearm ownership among Jewish Americans seeking to protect themselves and their communities. In response, the National Rifle Association has formed a first-of-its-kind partnership with Lox and Loaded, a group focused on firearm safety and self-defense training within the Jewish community.
Lox and Loaded was founded in March 2025 by firearms instructor Gayle Pearlstein following the October 7 attacks by Hamas in Israel. What began as an offer of free lessons quickly expanded into a national movement, growing to 50 chapters across multiple states. Many members are first-time gun owners, including individuals who previously opposed firearm ownership but now feel compelled to seek training due to growing security concerns.
Through the new partnership, members of Lox and Loaded will gain access to expanded training resources. Both organizations emphasize that responsible ownership requires consistent practice and education, arguing that preparation and instruction are essential as Jewish communities confront what they view as increasing and immediate threats.
