Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been declared cancer-free after undergoing successful treatment for early-stage prostate cancer, according to an official medical report released by his office. The report states that the cancer was detected following a routine follow-up scan after a previous procedure and was found to be at a very early stage with no spread.
Netanyahu, 76, initially underwent surgery in December 2024 to treat an enlarged prostate. A subsequent magnetic resonance imaging scan identified a tiny suspicious lesion, which was later confirmed to be early-stage cancer. He received targeted radiation therapy, and follow-up imaging and laboratory tests confirmed the complete disappearance of the lesion.
The prime minister said the public disclosure of his diagnosis was delayed for two months to prevent Iran from using his medical condition for propaganda during the war. He stated that he is now in good health and excellent physical condition following the fully successful treatment.
