Launching joint slate, Bennett and Lapid promise 'the era of division is over'

Former prime minister Naftali Bennett and Opposition Leader Yair Lapid have announced a joint electoral slate called Together, pledging to usher in what they describe as a new era of unity and post-Netanyahu leadership. Speaking in Herzliya, the two leaders said their merger is aimed at ending political infighting and securing a decisive victory in the upcoming elections.

Bennett, who will lead the combined list, framed the alliance as a patriotic move designed to represent a broad majority of Israelis. He promised a government of professionals focused on economic stability, personal security and national healing, and outlined priorities including a state commission of inquiry into the failures surrounding the October 7, 2023 attack, term limits for prime ministers and changes to military draft policy.

Lapid said he was setting aside political differences for the sake of national unity, calling on the political center to rally behind Bennett. Both leaders emphasized their longstanding partnership and pledged to form a stable government bridging religious and secular communities, as well as right and center voters, arguing that Israel needs a change in direction and a leadership built on trust and cooperation.
