Britain's Jewish community is facing what a senior London police official has described as the gravest threat in its history. In a recent interview, he warned that antisemitism has intensified and now comes from multiple directions, creating an unprecedented security challenge.

He said Jewish people have become the focus of a 'ghastly Venn diagram' of hatred, with threats emerging from far-left and far-right extremists, terrorist groups, and hostile state actors. This convergence of ideologies has increased both the scale and complexity of risks facing the community.

According to the police chief, law enforcement agencies are limited to addressing the immediate symptoms of this hostility. He argued that successive governments have failed to confront and resolve the deeper causes driving the rise in antisemitism.
